Always suspected that the British regard that whole period of US history as just an embarrassing hiccup.  ;D

I had a friend who went to a Canadian dependents school in Japan (her family is American) and they had to study Canadian history, British history and American history.

I saw a US High School textbook recently that had "England" written across the whole of a map of the UK so is it any wonder people get confused!?

Hah! Must be the one I had!  :P
