Need advice on incredibly trivial question:what women are wearing now in London!

Hi all-

I am in the middle of finding a job in the UK so me and hubby can move over there.  I am coming over later this week for a final job interview and although I know what the temperature is, I am interested in the incredibly trivial question of what women are wearing on their legs with skirts this time of year in London: bare legs, tights, (I assume it's not boots given the warn weather)?  Any advice would be appreciated as I am coming from California and of course it's totally summer here (as maybe it is there?).

It is "summer" here around 70 degrees give or take ;-)

I dont see people with pantyhose or tights on most magazines but I am not in London.
I would think for an interview where the tights/pantyhose if you are wearing a skirt.
This will look more in line with "interview" dress then bare legs.

Yes, she has a job interview.

Tights and hose are in london no matter what the degree. It's warm on the tube and i still notice the professional women with a nice set of nude hose on.

 Please double check your outfit because i can't tell you how many girls don't notice their blouse/dress is see through until their friend tells them on the stairs up to the street in the sun. It's been like once a day on my tube trips so far!! But granted, a few of them want it to be that way.

I don't think i'll ever get used to how trendy London's gals are. Accessories seem to be all the rage, big bags and lots of leggings. I see a lot of gladiator sandals and scarves.

I'm really not a fan of the leggings.... I don't get it. I noticed the first time I came out here in 2009, people wear them with everything! Ive even seen this girl wear see through leggings with a shirt! Lemme tell you it showed everything. I do love big bags though, so I love the reason of having to put my shoes in them as a shoe-in (no pun intended) to buy them. I'd prefer hose over leggings though, any day.

I'm hopelessly styleless, but I am always shocked at how many women are wearing opaque black tights on very warm days!  But, really, you'll see a lot of pretty much everything you can imagine.

For a job interview, I'd err on the side of caution and wear stockings with a skirt and then I would look around and see what others are wearing in the office itself.  

I work by liverpool street/bank, so see every kind of formal attire I think!

If you're going to a job interview and you're wearing a short skirt, then you need to be in tights, absolutely. Flesh toned/Tan tights, but tights nonetheless. I think you'll roast in black tights, I'd put them away for a few months, but yes you do see people wearing them.

I don't wear leggings very often, but general rule is, unless you want to really show off and have an awesome body to show off, make sure your top covers your bum. Leggings are not really job interview appropriate!

Generally people are wearing ankle boots and shoe-boots but not knee-high boots, mainly peep-toes and slingbacks.

Thanks to all for your advice!  I am not too stylish and don't have an awesome body to show off haha, but will definitely wear tights/hose.  Here in CA in software companies where I work, I haven't seen a pair of hose in years so I'm glad I asked! :-)
