« on: July 09, 2011, 08:52:23 AM »
Hi all,

My name is Paul I am 34 years old, married with 3 great children and I am English.

Now I know how this is going to sound and hope this will not come across as some weirdo or oddball.

I promise I am normal......... (I am sure a nutjob would say that too)

Anyway.

In 1998 I went to america and fell in love with the country and the people. Since then I have always though of my time there with great warmth.

God this sounds stupid even while I am writing this....

Bottom line time.

I am looking for some americian friends to soccialise with and hopefuly become lifelong friends. I am NOT looking for a relationship but both guys and girls are welcome.

I would love to watch an american football game and have a friend sit and explaine it to me. (By the way I hate fooyball or soccer as americians call it)

I would love to make corn dogs and beef jerky.

In return I offer my friendship without boundrys. I would love to have the opertuinity (<--- sorry bad spelling) to cook you a sunday rost amoungst other things. Just be friends.

No nutters need contact me but I can think of no better way to ask for your friendship.

About me:

Name: Paul
Age: 34
Sex: Male
Likes: Xbox360, All music including Country music (Brad Paisley is my fav), Dancing, Jokes, happy people
Hate: Brussle Sprouts, People who think there it, liars
Area: I Live in Harlow ESSEX

I hope this has not come across wrong. I am a normal person and would like to make some friends that is all

Hope you choose to reply

Hi... Welcome to UKYankee! People are very friendly and helpful here... Perhaps there is a meet-up group in your area? Or perhaps you can start one?!

Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.

I can't explain American football, and corndogs make me feel a bit queasy just thinking about them.

Lara is right, a meet-up in your area would be the best thing.  We have a meet-up board here, but I don't know how many of us are in Essex.  Have you considered coming to the London meet-ups?

Don't know until you try! :D If we lived in the South, you and my DH(UKC) could play xbox all day long! He's currently playing Half-Life. If you're interested, PM me and I'll let him know. He'll like having someone in the UK to play Modern Warfare and/or Hydrothunder with! ;D

Welcome to the forum!  I'm 'oop north' so nowhere near you at all, and I'm not much of a sports fan either.  Corn dogs are only good if you get them fresh at the county or state fair!  ;D  (and you get cotton candy & funnel cakes, and you eat junk food until you barf after a carnival ride...)

Looks like there's a meetup planned in London soon, if you could get there?  :)
