We'll be living in Marylebone and my 9 year old (going on 30 lol) daughter is afraid she won't meet any kids until school starts. I was hoping maybe someone here on the boards lives in the Marylebone/Regent's Park area with kids about the same age that would like to set up a play date or two for her (and me!) to make some new friends. We'll be moving there (hopefully!) this weekend so any time after that would work for us.

I wouldn't mind meeting anyone from any area, but keeping it more local will mean easier and more frequent get togethers.

If this isn't the place to post this sort of request, please let me know!

Tracy

I'm not sure of any members off hand with kids that age... hopefully someone will post. Meanwhile, you might want to try NetMums or MumsNet. They both have sections for meeting up with new people. :)
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I believe those are the equivalents. You'll also find play groups run out of churches and community centers.

This might be a reach, because I'm not sure if 9 is still a playground age or not, but Paddington Gardens is a really nice green space with a playground attached.  At after-school time, it is positively overrun with kids, and not just little ones.  I am fairly sure the little girl who ran into me this afternoon (they were playing tag in the rain and I was dashing for cover) was about that age.  If she's an outgoing type, it might be worth swinging by.  It's just in back of Marylebone High Street, you can get in off of Paddington Street or Moxon Street.

Also, not sure if she's a sporty type, but another pack of similar age-ish little girls were all wearing tennis camp t-shirts.  I know there are lots of sports camps/clinics/lessons that are going on in Regent's Park -- might be worth a look.
