Can someone please clarify for me if Logan is a unisex name? DH's friends are due to have a baby girl next month and are going to call her Logan - i thought it was a boys name!

Yes there are many names (especially in the US) that are unisex.. I believe Logan is one of them.. I personally think Logan would be cuter for a boy but that's just my opinion ;) I also like Tristan, Dylan, Cameron and Brendan.. All those minus Brendan are unisex here in the states ;D

I don't really think of Regan as a last name, but I have to wonder ... do these people not know their Shakespeare??

At least they didn't call her Goneril  :P

That was my thought as well - Regan is a girl's name of long standing, but , like Cassandra, not exactly a "good luck" name.

I have a friend who named his cat Edmund and I'm convinced it's going to murder him in his sleep. Edmund is not a trust-worthy name.

I'm not a fan either. Madison is a street, not a name.

All three girls were named after past US Presidents! I consider it a last name.

Then they've spelled "Reagan" wrong  ;)

Do they pronounce it Ray-gun? Everybody else I've ever heard of with that name pronounces it Ree-gun.

It was pronounced Ray-gun. I don't recall ever hearing that name said as Ree-gun. It's always been the Ray sound in the beginning.

Regan was the girls name from the Exorcist.

I really dislike the current fashion of giving babies surnames, like Taylor, Tyler, Madison, Connor, etc. etc. I have no problem with the principal (both my father and my grandfather had their mothers' maiden names as given names) but I hate the fact that every other kid has one of these names. It will become so quickly dated.

Actually my daughter's name is Madison and I think it's gorgeous! ;) I think people should name their children what they like, without harsh judgement.. Just my two cents/pence!!

She asked for advice on baby names, not for people to judge other names.
There are people on this site either with those names or with children with those names.
How would you like it if someone said something about your Childs name?
So please think about others before posting things that could possibly cause offence

Thank you

I don't think anyone was being terribly judgmental or mean.  Some people don't like certain names.  No big deal.  My niece is named Madison but I wasn't offended in the least by the comment.

I don't have a child, but I think that if a perfect stranger whom I'll probably never meet said he/she didn't like a name I'd chosen, I really wouldn't spend much time worrying about it to be honest.  :-\\\\

On a thread like this I think it's going to be hard for people not to mention names they don't like, along with names they do.
