what should I pack for my boys - weather-wise?
« on: July 28, 2011, 05:12:18 PM »
Gah! I hate packing for my two boys for trips to England because I never know what the weather will hold for us (we'll be in the south/southwest, and we'll be camping as well).

Should I pack more shorts, or more trousers for my boys? If you're in the south, are you wearing shorts today?  :)

Thanks!

When are you coming over?

I can give you a general outlook for the next week: it's about 75 degrees in the south/southwest at the moment, but it's been quite cloudy today. It looks like the beginning of next week is dry and warmer (mid-high 70s). Some thundery showers around on Tuesday/Wednesday and then becoming more changeable towards the end of the week with temperatures nearer normal (around 68-70).

I want her to start up her own regular weather forecast thread on Chit Chat!!!

But maybe that's too much like work when she means to be playing.

Oops, I forgot about your suggestion, Mrs. R  :-[!

It sounds like a good idea, but it'll have to wait a while as my final assessments are coming up in a couple of weeks and I'm a bit stressed at the moment (they keep throwing questions at me at work to see how I react under pressure and because not much is going on weather-wise, they also keep pretending there's suddenly a hazardous weather situation going on so I have act quickly and practice issuing warnings/amending the documents/making quick decisions).

Only thing I'm slightly worried about is that I'm not sure if I would be breaching some kind of company rule or regulation by posting forecasts online (working for the government and having signed the Official Secrets Act and all!).

Well what the weather is doing outside at any given time is pretty secretive, isn't it?  ;)

Of course, you don't have to - only if you want to & can, at your leisure.  :)
