My fave was defintiely "Where the Wild Things Are." Max ruled!

I also read and loved "Chronicles of Narnia."  My mom repeatedly confiscated the "Flowers in the Attic"novel. It took me forever to get to the end of that. Loved every Judy Blume book I could get my hands on!

anyone remember the bobsy twins?

I LOVED the bobsy twins!! Then Trixie Belden,  Then Nancy Drew -and some Hardy Boys.

My all time favorite is Madeline L'Engle.  She is amazing

The main book I remember from when I was younger was "The Cronicals of Narnia" series of books, it's really the first series that I read because I liked what I was reading.

Remember the Boxcar Children?  I loved them, but I hated Ben.

I still have 2 Trixie Belden books, too.  Not sure if I still have my Bobsey Twins...

Trixie Belden!!!! I loved her! I had to beg Mom to buy them for me all the time because I read them so fast. I'd love to have a complete set of them again.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Funnily enough my mom actually encouraged me to read it (although, I don't know why). I think because she had seen the movie and thought the books wouldn't be so racy. (ha!)  I did love those books. I read the whole series. It gets down right freaky towards the end but you become so entangled in the characters.

They messed up with the movie on Flowers in the Attic.  The way the ended it, it was like they knew they had no intention of ever doing movies for the rest of the books.  :-\\\\

It was nothing like the book and the ending was such bullhookey that you just couldn't help but hate the whole movie industry for messing with such a fab book. It was bad. bad bad bad.

That nearly always happens with movie/tv versions.  I was really fed up with that Canadian series of the Anne books, even though it is raved about. I thought the casting was all wrong (Anne especially, hello she was supposed to be super skinny waif like not all plump cheeks and rosy glow) and I can't remember how they ended the first series but I think they left some major bits out.
