Diaper pails

anyone know how to keep one not smelling so bad after you take the bag out? Ours is plastic with a disc that is to no make it smell but it doesn't do anything to help! When i empty for rubbish on monday it still smells. we only put the smelly ones in the can.

rinse with bleach... will smell like bleach then even when you rinse it all away but bleach smell better than poopy smell... also try vineger... vineger will take the smell outta disgusting smoke soaked clothes maybe it will take the stinky outta diapers

You could try pouring some baking soda in the bottom, too, after the bleach and/or vinegar.  You can change it as needed.

We pur dirty nappies into little nappy sacks first, you can get them at Boots, 100 for 90p, you can get them at Tescos and well, everywhere it seems. They are little peach bags that smell like peach and really do block the smell. THEN we put them in our nappy wrapper (read:diaper genie). It does the trick. That and a few squirts of Febreeze every once in a while.

Im not a big believer in diaper pails. I used to have a Diaper Genie for about 5 days with my first son. I would gag when I had to empty it. So I used to just keep a plastic grocery bag nearby and at the end of the day I would just chuck it into the dumpster. Now, three kids later I am still doing the same thing. I think unless you live in an apartment its just as easy to take the diapers out once or twice a day.

thanks for the advice i know i can always come here and get what i am looking for! I wish we had the little nappy bags here in wisconsin i'd use them for more then just nappys!
