You can get blackstrap, which is harsh and dark treacle, which is not quite as strong as regular molasses.

You can find some places around that sell imported molasses.

I agree with Chary.  Maple syrup is easy to find, pancake syrup not so much. It is around though, I saw some Mrs. Butterworth's this afternoon.

I "think" I may have shipped some molasses from my old pantry.  I guess if I get my household goods in this week and there isn't any in there I will figure something out.  I guess I could just make them eat French Toast with sugar, I am a pretty good cook but for some reason pancakes and I just don't mix anyway.  That is of course the only breakfast DH makes.

If you really want pancake syrup you could just make it yourself, you'd just need sugar, water, maybe some butter, vanilla or maple extract, I'm sure google would locate a recipe for you, and it would HFCS free.   ;)

Why not try using honey? I know it's different from maple syrup, but it's quite yummy. I prefer it. :)

I am going to make French Toast for breakfast, I will try out the honey thing with the kids and see how it goes over.

Cheese-  Is maple extract readily available here?  My hubby's grandma makes her own but with pure maple, and it is DELICIOUS!  I don't mind the extra work of making my own, I just want the kiddos to eat it.  ;)

Yeah I used to get the JR Watkins Maple Extract in Sainsburys baking section, I think you can buy it online, you can also get it at http://www.americansweets.co.uk/green-mountain-maple-flavouring-recommended-by-nigella-lawson-1781-p.asp
Would be cheaper in the long run than buying maple syrup :)
