Our Wedding Celebration
« on: August 31, 2011, 02:37:17 PM »
Some of you may know that the mister and I were married in the UK (almost a year ago now, our first wedding anniversary is September 20th!).  We had a very small civil ceremony and only had two friends as witnesses.  On August 20th, we were finally able to go to the states to have the wedding celebration we always wanted.  It is so strange to think that it is over and done now because we spent so much time planning and it always seemed so far away.

The ceremony and reception was beautiful and although there were some minor hiccups, it was a perfect day and I have so many amazing memories now.  I'm so happy we were able to do our wedding this way, it gave us the time to really make it special and how we wanted it.  We also had so much help from our families it was incredible, my mom sewed the bridesmaid dresses, my mother in law handmade all our invites, my godmother got the wedding cupcakes, my aunts made all the centerpieces, it was truly a collaborative effort.

If anyone is interested, I have a blog post with a ton of pictures:

Thanks everyone!

PlainPearl, I almost ended up not buying that dress, I'm so glad I did in the end.  My girlfriends and I decided to go to try on wedding gowns for fun before I left for the UK in 2010 and I ended up falling in love with it.  I was worried about buying a dress over a year before the wedding and also afraid I'd fall in love with something in the UK and regret buying it, but it was definitely the one for me!
