Bath soap.  I miss my old favorites like Safeguard, Dial, Coast, Zest, and Irish Spring.  I miss feeling squeaky clean.  Bar soaps here are not the same.  I can cope using Dove in the Winter.. But, during the Summer I struggle to get by with Palmolive soap.  I plan on going to The Body Shop this weekend and trying their line of bath soaps. Anything has to be better than what I've got.

I wonder if Costco has American brands of bath soap?  Anyone know?

When I go back next year for a visit, I will bring loads and loads of Antibacterial Safeguard back with me.

Yeah, I did bring back a few bars of Coast soap whenever I visited back in the States. But I eventually got over it  ;)
When I first moved (30 odd years ago) I shipped a partial container. At the last minute, my dad put two brooms in -- because he said it was good luck to have a new broom when you move to a new house!!

I do okay on soaps since my skin is so dry I have to use moisturizing body wash all year, but deoderant is something I make sure to bring back each trip. I haven't found a deoderant here that I like. Even the same brands as I can get back home, but I've read somewhere on here it has to do with a chemical that is banned here.

Actually, those brooms came in handy, I bet. When they say "broom" in our neck of the woods, they mean one of those pushable shop brooms. The sort of thing witches ride is a "besom" and I can't get high quality ones (good thing I brought one!).

My favorite soap has been Pear's soap and has been for decades, so that's alright (though they don't make it in the UK any more).

Solid deodorant. I can only find one brand here, and it's terribly dear.

I miss Secret solid and Sure solid too.  But, I am okay with using the Sure roll-on here.  I do know what you mean though.  It took me time to adjust to the deodorants here as well.

I ordered my witches' broom from Betterware.  I was very happy when it was delivered.

That was another reason I started bringing it back with me. I prefer solid. This last trip (late June through mid July), I brought 7 sticks back with me.

I get a laugh from 'brooms' too. Making it smaller and painted all pretty with pastel stripes doesn't change the fact it is a shop broom. We were working on a project at the in laws once and MIL asked if I would mind brushing the floor. I was confused until she handed me the broom. I have since heard others mention brushing the floor, when I would just call it sweeping.

When I moved to the UK I brought several Secret solids & a several Lady Speed Stick but sadly neither worked for me here in the UK. :(  :P  So I was using Niva Fresh spray but they stopped making it so I tried Mitchum an that doesn't work for me at all which I was surprised. I now use Sure for Women the new Motionese spray I haven't had any issues so far thankfully. ;)  :)  I don't like roll on deodorant I don't like the clammy wet feeling it leaves when its on ewww. ::)  :P

When we go to the States I bring back loads & loads of Bath & BodyWorks body wash's, matching body lotion's, & matching body spray's. ;D [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  Dh obviously has his own bodywash lol. ;)  :)

Is it safe to say the Costco in the UK doesn't carry this? :-\\\\

This is what I consider to be a "broom". Hard to get nowadays. I guess everybody wants a Swiffer.  :P

Well, I ended up throwing my Swiffer out -- because what I really needed was an old-fashioned mop for soaking up the water spilled from the cat's bowl and that kind of thing. I can see for some tasks it would be good but not so much for my purposes.

Well I can see how a proper mop would be good for you :) I don't have the original swiffer, I have the battery operated one and it's easier for me to use. My daughter likes to help me do the floors so this is easier for her to use as well. I'm bummed that the UK doesn't have swiffers.. I never saw them and my bf said they don't have them there :(

I haven't seen swiffers in the UK (although I haven't looked for them either), but one of my friends came to visit me in the US once, and said she had one too.  Perhaps it was a different brand, I don't know.

Thank you very much for mentioning the Pear's soap. I bought one bar and tried it and will have to go back to Tesco for more. It's great.  I love the ginger smell to it and it rinses clean.  Another problem solved!
