Hey Mr Toke,
Just found your post. I am also 40 and from San Jose. Do you think we went to the same high school? :o  The KOME avatar was great to see after so many years.  Is it still on the radio?  Dennis Erectus - what a blast from the past! I listened to it all thru high school but then switched to Live 105 when the Brit music wave hit me...

Hope you are settling in well. I'm nowhere near there but its nice to see San Jose written for a change.....

Oo, whereabouts in Birmingham are you both?  I will be there next week, yaaaaaaaaa :).. I lived there myself for 12 years - in Moseley and then Billseley (just outside of Kings Heath)... moved to Tamworth then, but still have daugthers living in Birmingham (Kings  Norton and Quinton).

Pauline :)

Hello,
Nine years older that 41..yes I know, and moving to UK next month.  Live in Santa Cruz, and work in San Jose.   Many years before worked for KZAP and other radio stations...life before.  Nervously awaiting my experience in UK once I have settled.  For the last four years I have travelled over for various reasons, and always wish to stay longer.  But living there full time, that will be something of an adjustment no matter how much I wish to live there.
KOME is now spanish radio....a very sad day indeed.   The landscape of California has changed so much, in so many ways.

Hello,

KOME is now spanish radio....a very sad day indeed.   The landscape of California has changed so much, in so many ways.

I hear ya! I was just home in SJ at Thanksgiving after 2 years absence and I always find it depressing how things have advanced so rapidly that nothing resembles what I grew up with..  I mean, Santana Row???? Was that really needed?

There's one sole house in my old neighbourhood that hasn't changed. It has been painted purple since I can remember and still is. I always go look at it like a childhood memento...
