NFL: Two London games in 2012?

The headline grabber in Tuesday’s initial press conference for the New York/New Jersey Super Bowl came from the presence of a snowflake in the host committee’s official logo.  But some real news also came from the event, as reported by Daniel Kaplan of SportsBusiness Journal.

Per Kaplan, Goodell said after the event that he expects the NFL to stage two overseas regular-season games in 2012.  Kaplan expects both of those games to be played in London.

Dallas Cowboys, please.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is interested in adding a second regular-season game in London and says the move will be discussed at the owners meetings this week.

Goodell spoke before the Buffalo Bills' game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, saying the league would like to build on the success it's had playing in London.

I read somewhere recently that they're having trouble selling all the tickets for the Bears/Bucs game, so I'm not sure how they think adding another game is a good idea.  Perhaps if they played in a smaller stadium (Emirates, maybe), they'd have a better chance of selling out the games.  As of today (two weeks before the game) you can still get pretty good seats going directly through the Ticketmaster website.

That was the first thought that came to mind. Why would Goodell want to add another game in London when this year's game hasn't sold out yet? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. However he could be trying to capitalize on the world paying attention to London with the olympics coming in.

Anyway, my wife and I still have 6 tickets available for this year's game. Being from Chicago, we bought 8 tickets since friends and family were talking about coming out and planning a trip around the game. That plan folded so we're unfortunately left with 6 tickets currently being unused, all very close to the field. 4 seats are in the 13th row section 131 and 2 tickets in the 39th row in section 130. We're not looking to make a profit on these, just trying to unload these rather quickly to get them off our hands. We paid £78 per ticket after service charge and everything at ticketmaster so that is what we're asking for per ticket. You could go to ticketmaster to buy tickets now, but you won't find them this close to the field. We've got the tickets in hand and would be willing to meet up to do the sale in person.
