ACCA/ACA Qualification
« on: October 10, 2011, 01:37:24 PM »
So, I have begun my masters degree in accounting and talk about ACA/ACCA qualifications are all over the place. I had never heard of it before but I am familiar with the US equivalent-the CPA. Seeing as my boyfriend is English and I plan to get married and start a family here, it would be very beneficial for me to become a qualified accountant. Now I am totally rethinking my masters degree because it is so expensive and I feel that a qualification would be so much better for my career at this stage. I have been googling my heart out and I cannot find anything about how I could get started/where and how to study for these exams and whether it would even be feasible for me as an American. I want to get this figured out because at the moment I feel like I could very well be wasting my time on my masters and my employer (who is not a certified ACA employer) agrees. She suggested I go get a job for Deloitte or something because they pay for that sort of thing but can I even do that on a student visa?? Ugh so many questions and i'm freaking out!!! I would appreciate any help....thanks!!
