I've made both Nigella's and Delia's but I don't like Christmas cake so I have no idea which one is better.  :P  :)

Whatever one you make - be sure to have it with Wensleydale cheese - it's the best way forward!!!  ;D

Of course!

I've never had cheese with Christmas cake, that sounds interesting!
I also love Wensleydale on digestive bickies!  [smiley=laugh.gif]

OK, so I've made my Christmas cake, using Delia's recipe except subbing out the raisins and sultanas, but like a complete numbskull I've left out the ground almonds and treacle.  How much of a disaster is this?  I had planned to use golden syrup in place of black treacle anyway (thinking it would go better with the fruit I've chosen) so it won't impact the colour of the cake much, but what about the texture?  Will it be too dry?  Do I need to feed it more?  Less?  Help!

This will teach me to try to bake whilst in the grips of an allergy attack.
