Baby due in 4 weeks....what to do RE passport etc.

Hey everyone! This is actually only my second post on UK yankee as I have just discovered it today after having lived here for 2 years already! Anyways...I am expecting a baby girl in 4 weeks time now...her due date is on Thanksgiving! Yay! lol so I know that as she will be British born she has the right to a British passport, but I also want to apply for an American passport for her. I am planning a trip back to the US with my baby for sometime in Feb. She can just travel on her British passport right?? Also, should I apply for her US passport when I am visiting the states in Feb. or is that too late?? Thanks guys, any advice is much appreciated! 

No, she needs to travel to the US on her US passport.

No. She needs to have her US passport to travel into the US. However, she doesn't need a British passport to travel back into the UK.
