Hi everybody!

I've recently got a temp job until Jan at Harvey Nichols in London at Knightsbridge.

I have had some problems with the weave I had in my hair, it is a disaster.  As you know it is a luxury department store, the best in the UK and they need you to 'look the part' for a luxury department store.

I had gotten a complaint from one of the managers there telling me I need to have my hair more tidy as a sales person, and rightly so. I also had the same complaints with the way my hair looks from other interviews I had in the past because it was looking a bit too untidy for a luxury department because of the weave and my hair that is bleached, unhealthy looking and that is broken on top and hard to blend.  My hair is about on top is about two inches I had and I had black roots on blonde hair. (Now I am planning on getting hair that is a more darker brown this time so it will blend in when the weave starts growing out.) I will need a full weave.

The weave I got was a disaster and it looks really bad.  I need to have someone remove the weave entirely and put in a new weave as my real hair is short and over-bleached and I do need to give it a rest.   Looks and presentation are very important in Harvey Nichols, as they do not want 'high street' looking people working in their concessions.

The girls at various concessions have told me that they put tracks in my hair and not plaits... I am not sure of the difference but they told me I need plaits...not tracks. Not sure if I need this or not but some of the girls were saying this.

I need a recommendation for someone who is in the London where I can travel from N1.  Someone proficient or at least can work with European hair, as I am Caucasian for a full weave.

I have two days off, tomorrow Friday and Saturday.  I will need to find someone between these two next days to do something so I don't look a mess for next week.

Please, does anyone have someone they can recommend?  I feel like the worst hair disaster at Harvey Nic's!!

Thank You!!!

Aw I feel bad for you! I wish I knew how to corn row hair because I could definitely do a sew in for ya. I did my best friend's hair (she's white) but I did a glue in for her and it looked magnificent. I will ask my friend Sam if she knows of anyone, she lives in North London and her hair is always on point.

Not sure what they were talking about either with plaits vs tracks. Plaits are another form of braid and tracks are the way you lay your hair when it's braided, so I don't know if they know what they're talking about. Two totally different animals.
There are two kinds of people.  People who say what they want, and people who DO what they want. Which one will you be?

Yes...I was doing the glue in myself every week and it didn't look so great trying to cover my roots with an invisible part... but it didn't look luxury enough for harvey nick's so I got a weave and it ended up to be a disaster!

They put three packs of hair on me, Indian Remy that I got from Pak's and all the girls were saying it didn't feel like real Remy hair!  I wasted so much money and now I have to do it all over again!!  I am 5'2 and the hair was way too much!  They even left the top part of my real hair out on the top with the roots and it didn't blend and was way too bulky it looks like a bad wig!!

God I really need this done within two days and I didn't fancy going into another walk in salon without a recommendation this time... My two days off will be a bit stressful trying to find someone to do this weave... It's affecting my job...  the husband ism't too thrilled about this either!

Online girl, can you post a picture of your hair, so we can get a better idea?

It's hard to say without seeing it, but I would tend to agree with the others who said that getting a cute and trendy short crop would probably be your best bet.  It would be cheaper, too, which would probably please your husband if he is worried about money.  And this way you could start from scratch with nice healthy hair!

I was going to say the same--just get a nice short cut.  You can let it grow from there.  It sounds like the extensions are going to be difficult and expensive to maintain at the super-slick level you need for your job.  Plus, like everyone else said, you'd be starting with healthy hair in your natural color.

Well here's the reason why she probably wants a full sew in. I'm just assuming but maybe she likes the long hair? Lol. Not only that but if she gets a full head sew in, her hair will get a chance to recuperate from all the damage from the glue. I would actually suggest a full head sew in because your own hair is braided up for two months and it grows really fast at this time! Then when she takes it out, the hair that's been braided can be cut or conditioned and then she can do it all over again until her real hair is recovered!

@online girl - My friend Samantha said her hairdresser does full sew in weaves on caucasians! Hopefully she can get me her hairdressers info today and I will PM it to you. She's in South Africa right now and I've just asked for her details so hopefully she gets it soon. :-)

P.S. Girl, stay away from the glue ins from now on. I used to do it, but it takes your hair out and really pulls at it and damages it. I'm trying the clip ons now, but my last weave from 6 months ago was a sew in and my hair is so long now I don't even need extensions.

(modified to add post script. Lol)
