Mum bought me a nice huge thick one from M&S a couple of years back because I was lamenting the lack of real bathrobes here in the USA lol, all I could find were fleecy fuzzy dressing gowns :) I think they are just going out of style period. I've still never seen a good one here in the US but I do live in a small town.

I think it might be a guys one cause I prefer the plain dark coloured ones.
I prefer to wear DPs because its heavy and super cozy.
Mine is okay, but his is just nicer.

Do you have a Dunelm Mill in your town?  There's a big one here in a strip of furniture, hardware, and computer stores. I got to choose my colour and size from a large selection there and bought a new set of matching bath towels that are thick and lovely while I was at it.

Here's a link: http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/bathroom/dressing-gowns/

The cheaper robe is available in 30 colours!

I miss my fuzzy, ankle length robe I'd gotten at Walmart YEARS ago. I got rid of it because I didn't wear it so much in the few years before moving here. The one I have here was a gift so I didn't get to try it on. It is just below knee length, but I could wrap it around myself three times. I don't actually wear it, but I throw it over my legs while watching tv if I'm a little cool.

My favourite ever bath robe was a long cotton quilted one that zipped up the front. Not sure if it was Lanz or just a similar fabric. It was warm but somehow very elegant. Think I eventually "outgrew" it  :\\\'(

That reminded me of my brother and me going through every page of the Sears catalog when we were kids. I was thinking 'I want that.... I want that... and that... and that... oh! I'd love that...'  ;D

I used to do that with the L.L. Bean catalogue  ;D Does Sears still do a catalogue?

Thanks, SlicesM.  The quilted one they show is flannel and not as fitted as the one I had.  They do have a good selection though. (I'm going to order some insulated curtains from them.)

My mother used to do that with us. Sears, Pennys, etc. Shed ask us to mark next to the items we wanted and to dog ear the pages. She used to be able to get her Christmas shopping sorted that way.. We still wrote letters to Santa, but going through those catalogues bring back loads of memories.

I'm not sure if Sears still does their catalogue, but last I knew it was a slimmed down version of the monster book it was in the late 70's and early 80's. I'd guess with all their merchandise being available to view online they probably no longer to the Christmas one.
