Hello from Oregon!
« on: November 07, 2011, 07:29:05 PM »
Hi! I have been reading these boards for a long time and have finally decided to join in on the fun. I live in Oregon and my boyfriend lives on the island of Guernsey in the UK. I am going to visit him for the first time in February and I am excited about it. :) I am so glad that this board exists because it's great to know that there are others going through the same kind of things I am. *waves*  ;D

I'm in Lincoln City on the coast. :) Where are you at? I lived in Olympia for about 5 years.I'm going to Guernsey for 3 weeks. I went to England in 1990 and in 1997 as a tourist so it won't be a total culture shock type thing visiting him.LOL However, from what he has told me, and from what I've read, Guernsey is a bit different from England when it comes to a lot of things. I never thought in my life that I would be going back to the UK let alone going there to meet somebody. :)

I'm on Whidbey Island.

At least being from Oregon the weather in the UK won't bother you much.  ;)

I'm sure you will have a terrific trip!  :)

I lived in Olympia Washington for a time. If I can survive that weather I can survive anything! ;) My SO was actually concerned about me and the weather over there until I reminded him that I was born in San Francisco and have lived in some of the wettest parts of the US.LOL

I think it's a valid concern, but you certainly have it going for you having lived in so many very rainy places.  ;)
