Like Crazy

So has anyone seen or heard of the film "Like Crazy"? I just went to the theater last night to see it. I cried so much, and I could hear other people sobbing too! I think everyone on this website can relate to it in some way. Its a film about a young couple in a US/UK LDR. I think it really portrayed the hardships of a LDR and I felt like I was the girl in the film, on the tube, at Heathrow and all. I recommend it, but have lots of tissues on hand! It's an independent film...not sure if its out in other countries, and its only playing in select theaters here in the US.

http://www.filmdates.co.uk/films/3048-like-crazy/  It says it releases in the UK on February 03, 2012.  Haven't seen it. Haven't even heard of it until now. But, I would like to watch it.

I just watched, and I think it portrayed the hardships of a LDR very well. So many things were familiar to me, the crying at the airport, enjoying everything about your last night together as if you were on death row, playing Balderdash with his family! I thought the actors did a great job as well. Very realistic. Just glad my DF didn't overstay on his student visa!!

I have a ticket to see an advance screening of that here in the UK for the 23rd. I hadn't heard of it until I got the ticket and I just watched the trailer for it. I can tell it's going to be sad. It looks really good. I'm impressed to see a film that might actually accurately portray how hard it is to be together if one of you lives in a different country. So often you see on TV or in films where they're just like "Oh, I love you and you love me let's just be together!" If only it were that simple!

My family and friends are always surprised when I tell them how involved and expensive the visa application process is. I'm looking forward to this film, I hope it's good.

It's really really bad.

I couldn't wait to see it but it's awful.  Full of holes, unrealistic and he didn't really seem to like her at all.  Very one sided, maybe in that respect it's realistic.

I could write a better story based on mine, or anyone else on here's experiences.

I totally agree! I was very disappointed. Hard to feel sorry for them when she so willingly and knowingly overstayed her visa. It just felt like a big on again off again mess to me. I feel like if you're going to go to the trouble of this long distance relationship (which many of us here are very familiar with) then you've got to love the person more than these two seemed to since they kept giving up and being with other people so quickly and easily.

I really disliked it.  I hated the fact that they didn't set up the background at the beginning of the movie - it was just random and disjointed, and their relationship wasn't believable.  Then, they basically never had any fun again after that.  I was just wondering, what is the point?

Apparently a lot of the scenes were improvised.  Perhaps explains some of the lack of chemistry between the main actors.  Also, the story is based on the writer's own experiences (apparently his ex wasn't too happy about it).

It was playing at one theatre here for exactly one week...when they pulled it off the screens. It's not playing here at all.  I still wanted to see it.

I've never seen a movie have such a short running.
