computer in luggage
« on: September 14, 2004, 05:20:17 AM »
I plan on putting my computer in my luggage.  I was wondering are the x-rays going to destroy anything?  Data loss I'm not worried about I can always HDD format and do a restore.  I'm worried about the hardware itself.

The x-rays are not strong enough to do any damage to your PC.  I have always purchased PCs and laptops in the States while "home" then flying them back to Scotland with me (soooo much cheaper!!).  Never had a problem, nor has my cousin whose done the same.

Use the styrofoam that it was packed in if possible, or some other VERY sturdy and VERY secure packaging.  You'll be fine.
