Hi everyone, I got a new HD Box from SKY and a HDMI cable, now I can use my TV's from the USA. TV's from the USA do work here and you dont have to get any other equipment besides what I got, the HDMI and the HD box will work great....thanks for all the help.

Glad it worked for you, as it did for me! There are still naysayers around that will swear that it can't be done!
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

Hi Guys

do you mind telling me what make and model your TV's are please?

I have a LG & a Visio, both LED and both only say 110V and 60HZ on the back.

All i am worried about is the voltage really as i will be using sky hd with them both

thanks in advance

Hi Hasslehogg,

As your TV's only operate on 110V then the only way you'll be able to use them here in the UK is to purchase a voltage step down transformer i.e 240v to 110v. Get one with a decent load/wattage rating. A new 1000 W transformer off ebay sellers is available for around £50-75 or so.

Cheers, DtM! West London & Slough UK!
