Breakups are tough =/
« on: December 24, 2011, 09:20:32 PM »
Hey everyone.. Not sure if I'm posting this in the right area.. I haven't been on the site for awhile and there are a few reasons for that. The main one would be that Phil and I broke up 6 weeks ago. I was pretty devestated initially, but I'm doing better now. I'm very blessed to have many people in my life who love and care about me. The outpour of support has been amazing, but I miss him everyday and with Christmas coming up tomorrow it's made me realize how tough everything has been. We were supposed to be in Paris right now.. Anyway I know there were a lot of issues that needed to be worked through and believe me I would have been willing to do so, but relationships require 2 people putting forth effort, not 1. :-\\\\ I wish I could reconcile with him, but not sure how to go about doing that. It's so weird to be typing this.. I was planning a wedding now I'm trying to figure out how to move forward with my life. I changed and rearranged my life for him and our future. I'm trying not to be resentful but, I have a lot of mixed emotions about everything. Hoping to be happy again someday.. So I guess staying positive is crucial.

Sorry to read your news LittleMissSarcasm......yes break-ups are hard but as you rightly said staying positive helps.....I always believed in the saying "If you love something let it go, if it comes back to you its yours, - if it doesn't, it never was."  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and send healing ((((((HUGS)))))) your way....take care and try to have a good Christmas.......

I'm sorry you are going through this, especially now at the holidays. Breakups are always hard, but I imagine a long-distance one would be especially so due to the time and expense incurred.

I hope that whatever path your life takes from here, that you will be happy and at peace with your decision.

Well said, and I echo the sentiments.  Losses are felt much more acutely around the holidays.

Sorry to hear this. :( Be kind to yourself. You already sound like you're in a good place, but I promise it will get better.

Sorry to read this.  Sometimes the timing isn't right and sometimes it's the people, but one thing I strongly believe is that things always work out...perhaps not how you want them to, but how they should be.  No matter what, breakups are hard, but you seem like a person who will get through this in time.

Hopefully, you can enjoy the holidays and big hugs to you.   [smiley=hug.gif]

Big, big hugs to you. Breakups are never easy, I agree. Time and being surrounded by people who love you (family and friends) will go a long way toward healing your heart. Pamper yourself and give yourself the chance to go through all the emotions so you can worth through them.
