Just wondering what a mid-terraced house means?

I'd say the closest American term is row-house.  A mid-terraced house means a row-house that is not on the end.

It's like a row home.  Small houses built in a row attatched to each other.  Mid terraced is the one in the middle, meaning you'd have a neighbour attatched to each side of your house.
