From San Francisco to Hampshire
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:31:06 AM »
Hi!

I'm an American living in San Francisco. I met my British girlfriend in June of 2010 while traveling. We traveled together for a couple of months, lived together for a couple of months (in the UK), and these days are playing plane tag and grabbing a few weeks together whenever we can. She's in Hampshire, which is where I will (hopefully!) be moving in a few months.

We're planning on tying the knot in Vegas so we can finally to be together on a long-term basis, and, as the nerdy member of the pair, I'm doing all the research I can about our options. That means I've been trawling this forum religiously and my dreams are full of terms like "FLR" and "spouse visa".

This forum has been a massive help to me so far. I'm looking forward to learning more and getting to know all of you!

Hello Slipstream and welcome to the forum!

I was living near the Bay Area and just moved to Wales less than 2 months ago on a Fiance visa. So we have similar stories here, I'm just a bit ahead of you!  :)
I arrived the beginning of December and got married at the very end. Now I'm just awaiting some banking documents and for our landlord to put my name on the lease over here before I apply for my FLR(M) - (aka / what people commonly call a "Spousal Visa"). Let me know if you have any questions along the way and I'll help if I can. Of course there's a lot of great people on here, all ready to lend a helping hand!

Cheers!
Panther
