This makes me very sad. There are so many people who do not speak great English, don't have any special talents or education, and who may even have some kind of disability that requires extra help that make amazing contributions to the world -- sometimes just by being there. And isn't he also saying, "Oh, over there, you lot are British so we can't kick you out, but you're poor and useless and don't contribute anything valuable so we would get rid of you if we could."
Sometimes I amaze even myself.

I agree with you and I think that is exactly what he is saying x

It is exactly what he's saying.  But then, that's pretty much conservative chapter and verse.

Look at Mitt "I'm not concerned about the very poor" Romney. : /

If you look at the bigger picture of what is happening in Britain for those of us here that is, this government is really cracking down on what it considers the !poor!.

They are introducing all sorts of welfare reforms which target disabled people, job seekers and basically any one on any sort of benefits.  Housing benefit is also being targeted.

I guess this immigration policy is just an extension of that, and if you think of it from there point of view, any British people that they can get to go abroad to join there foreign spouse, is a bonus and will increase there chances of getting net migration down, ie no foreign spouse and dependants, and a British person (who might be entitled to shock horror some benefits for being British) going as well which will offset the numbers of people who come in.

Hope this makes sense love pads x

It is all very sad. Happy to cut benefits, terrified to levy taxes on the financial sector.
Sometimes I amaze even myself.
