Bristol in september
« on: February 04, 2012, 05:23:30 AM »
Hi,

I'm a 20 year old college student at the University of Washington and I've just been accepted into a year long exchange at the Univeristy of Bristol next year. I'll be leaving in late september. I'm really excited but also really nervous. I've never been to england before so it should be an adventure.

I'm just looking for people to give advice on the move, visa, ect. Also I'd love to learn more about Bristol since I don't know a lot about the city (i picked it mostly for the school).

I look forward to getting to talk to you all

Katie

Welcome to the site :).

Good luck with your studies :).

If you have any questions about Bristol or the university, please don't hesitate to ask... I was born in Bristol, raised just outside the city and I attended Bristol University for my masters degree :). (I also studied abroad in the US for a year and a half so I've experienced college/university on both sides of the pond).

Bristol is a lovely city.  A great starter city IMO, not too large and not too small.

Congrats on your programme, I'm sure you will enjoy your time here.
...the whole damn thing will turn
and return redefined, rearranged, rearranged...

Welcome to UKY!

DH and I used to live outside Bristol before we moved to London.  It's a lovely place; as others have mentioned, not too large, and not too small.

Good luck with your studies!

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'm glad to hear to many good things about Bristol. For someone reason it seems to remind me a bit of Seattle which would make it a great home away from home.

Hi!

I have lived in Bristol now for almost three years.  I am from Texas originally.  Feel free to message me if you want to chat a bit.  I am home sick this week and then next week is term break.

Cheers,
Sassyreader :)

At UW I'm majoring in Political Science and European Studies. So at Bristol I'll be taking Politics, Italian, and maybe a little bit of history.
