Would I Count as a First Time Buyer?
« on: February 14, 2012, 02:11:30 PM »
My husband has a healthy amount in savings and was looking to purchase another home that would be used as a rental property.  If he were to transfer the money to my account and I purchased the home (as a cash buyer), does anyone know if I would qualify as a first time buyer and therefore be exempt from stamp duty?  My name is not on our primary mortgage.

Thanks in advance!

According to this in the Guardian, it looks as though you would:
