If I like a movie adaptation of a book, I have to watch the movie before I read the book. I think there is one book I liked better as a movie, but I can't remember what it was.  ???

I liked the movie version of The Joy Luck Club better than the book.  I had trouble remembering which daughter went to which mother in the book, and actually I didn't like the book all that much.  I thought the movie was good though.

A girl from my high school was in the Joy Luck Club.  It was hard to watch the film when I knew one of the daughters had sat next to me in choir.

Finished "The Constant Gardener".  I think it's beautiful, but that may be partially because the cover design is gorgeous.  And I'm a sucker for novels with dead people as main characters, especially if set in Africa or Asia.

I've had this book on my bookshelf for over 4 years. I lived in Kenya for a couple of years (yes, it was on my bookshelf even then). I ruined it by watching the movie and had some wild PTSD after it. I still hope to read it though! Especially if there is some creative narration.

I just finished Eat, Pray, Love and was very disappointed with the ending... the love bit was just too cheesy for me.  ::)

Now to start up The Kite Runner (again) before it comes out on film.

Delicious by Nicky Pelligrino.  It took a little while to get into it, but now I can't put it down.  The characters are so interesting!

Rereading the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol. 1 & 2 in preparation for book #3.  Oh and tomorrow I will get my copy of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

I loved that book when I was a kid and thought I needed to get it for my nephew, but I might need to read it before giving it to him.

I just finished Born on a Blue Day, which is an autobiographical story written by an autistic savant. It was a fascinating read!

Next I may go back and re-read Imajica, by Clive Barker.

Yay, that's a really great one.  Although not for the faint of stomach!

I know I am starting to remember why I didn't eat pork products after I read it the last time.

Definitely not one to read over supper!  :P

I'm about to start either Topper Takes a Trip or Three Men on the Bummel. I can't decide which one to read first!

I'm reading this,

http://www.littlebrown.co.uk/Title/9780316729635

and although it's a good read, the author is aggravating me a bit. She is from Belfast, but spent 5 years in America, according to the author bio, but she's one of those authors that can't get things quite right. And it's ANNOYING!! Like describing a character as 'opening a jumbo bag of tacos', ??? and later, the character emptying the bowl of tacos......wtf? Also, she quite enjoys bashing americans a bit, that's getting on my nerves as well. Why am I reading it??  :PWell, it is a good read. So far.   Just a bit annoying sometimes.
