Moving on to The Secret, but still need to finish The God Delusion as well.

Hounslow Libraries just emailed me to say "The God Delusion" is finally in (I requested it 6 weeks ago) - I'm looking forward to starting that one.

I have also requested "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim" by David Sedaris.  Looking forward to reading that after having read another book of his called "Me Talk Pretty One Day" a few years ago.

If you like Sedaris, read Naked! I think it's his best.

I was about to read Palladian by Elizabeth Taylor, but I think I might already have read it.

Thanks for the advice!  I just looked for Naked on the Hounslow Libraries catalogue search and they don't have it, so I'll try to get it via Bookmooch.

I like Sedaris too.  :)

The God Delusion may bore you as there is nothing in it that is really shocking if you already lean in that direction. Still, it's worth the time as there are so many folk who like to bash it without having read it.  ;D

I embarassed myself reading "Dress Your Family" while on the tube.  I laughed out loud at one passage, looked up and saw several people staring at me.  They clearly were afraid I was a loon!

I know what you mean!  I was reading the "Baby Einstein" chapter this morning and laughed so hard I was crying - took me a good 5 minutes to compose myself, and as I kept reading, I continued to laugh uncontrollably....  DH wanted to know why it was so funny and I said I really couldn't explain, you had to read it (and you can't just dive into the one chapter and appreciate the humour for all that it is, as the information about his family builds on itself).

I've really gotta read all the rest of his books now!

Thanks for the insight on The God Delusion.  It's next up after the Sedaris book (which has been a very quick read as I've hardly been able to put it down since I started).

Yesterday morning, I went to the library to collect the 5 books I had requested that had come in during the week - it felt like the joy of Christmas!  Gotta love the reservation service that Hounslow Libraries offer free of charge....

Finally getting around to reading the Nigel Slater bio - Toast.  I didn't know that he's gay - I have been living under a rock, of course.

That's how the light gets in...

Really?  Me too then.   :-[
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Knights of the Black and White by Jack Whyte.  It is about the Knights Templar.  Jack Whyte is one of my favorite authors and wrote a fantastic Arthurian series based more on history (when Arthur was believed to have lived, etc) than on fantasy.  This is his new book and I hope it is as good as the last!

Has anybody read Queenan Country by Joe Queenan?  I was just given it for a gift and read it practically in one sitting, laughing all the way...  :D

I've finally gotten around to reading The Devil in the White City By Erik Larson

I've had so many people recommend it.  So far so good.

I'm in the middle of The Many Colored Land by Julian May. This is a comfort re-read as I was nutty about his stuff when I was a teenager.
