...and speaking of bookclubs, I'm reading "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" for the Yorkshire bookclub.  I won't give anything away for those who haven't gotten to it yet, but I'll just say (in my opinion) "Jane Eyre" is much better and "Wuthering Heights" is as well.  :-\\\\

Really??  Everything I was told about it was good and everyone seemed to LOVE it...I haven't started it yet but I'll let you know what I think when I do!

We should probably save up our criticisms, etc for the meeting--ha ha!  I will say I don't hate it though....maybe it's just that I loved Jane Eyre so much!

Jane Eyre is my favorite Bronte book as well.  :)

Besides the plot being so good, I felt there was even some humour and an awesome amount of insight into human behaviour and what motivates people.  More than I would have had at the age Charlotte Bronte was when she wrote it.

I've got two on the go right now. One is Kitchen Essays by Agnes Jekyll, a wonderful collection of recipes and essays about food from the '20s. The other is The Millstone by Margaret Drabble.

Life in the United Kingdom, a particularly well written  ;) and riveting thriller!

My exam is on 6 December, so I'm in the final stages of revision at present!

LOL...  Hope everything goes great!

I am still reading Pride and Prejudice... almost finished, though, and might give Jane Eyre a try afterwards, since you all recommend it so highly and I have never read it.

Oooo I was obsessed with Pride and Prejudice for a while watching the BBC adaptation (the Colin Firth one) at least 6 times, reading the book twice, and then searching out all of the other film and TV versions.

I'd say,"you will love Jane Eyre", but maybe you won't--though it *is* really good!

I'm almost done Tenant of Wildfell Hall.  It does seem to go on and on...
