The Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir...I am FINALLY getting through my library books! :D

I really liked that one.  For a historian, she makes an excellent novelist!

Currently rereading Herodotus.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

I have two sitting in front of me and can't decide which to start on first: J.K. Rowling's The Tales of Beedle the Bard or Amy Sedaris's I Like You.

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

I haven't read any of her historical works yet.  That will be my next selection once I get through my other books :)  I read The Lady Elizabeth and I really enjoyed it.

Can anyone suggest a good historical Alison Weir book to read?

I'm reading The Story of Britain by Rebecca Fraser.  Interesting, "Big Men in History" perspective on the history mostly of England, but some peripheral Welsh and Scottish events, from the Roman times through to Maggie Thatcher.  I'm only up to Richard II, even though I've been reading for what seems like forever.  That's almost 1300 years of history right there!

On the plus side, figuring out all the kings and eras is going to make me a menace on Quiz Night!

Of her historical books, I have read Children of Henry VIII, The Princes in the Tower, and The Six Wives of Henry VIII - I would recommend all of them.  I'm hoping to read Eleanor of Aquitaine next.  Her site is http://alisonweir.org.uk/books/index.asp

Definitely Amy Sedaris!

Seconded.

I took your advice! It's very rare that I actually laugh out loud when reading something, but this book is making me do just that! My bf thinks I'm going mad!  ;D

The Children of Henry VIII is my favorite, although The Six Wives... is a close second.

You didn't find it a bit Harlequin-y?  It was an entertaining read, but it got a bit too bodice-ripper for my taste. :-\\\\

I absolutely love Alison Weir. I've not read her novels, but her historical stuff is great.

I've just finished Someone at a Distance by Dorothy Whipple - it was so good, it had me literally sobbing last night. Now it's onto Alas, Poor Lady by Rachel Ferguson. (I love my Persephones!)
