I've jumped on the Cloud Atlas wagon and just started it today. Only about 30 pages in so far, but I like it!

Has anyone read Molly Watson's In the Pink?  It looks cute; I'm tempted.

Toby Young says "Molly Watson is our generation's Nancy Mitford and In the Pink is the 21st century equivalent of The Pursuit of Love."  I suspect that's a bit rich.  But Tatler calls it "jolly japes from a fresh young pen" and I must say, it's been ages since I've read any japes.

(Other than those in Tatler, of course.)

Looks a bit like chick-lit .... with horses! But I could be wrong. I'd be willing to give it a try.

I think it's very much a 'chick-lit' type book -- it's certainly being marketed as such.  It wasn't until later that I noticed it's not fiction, but an account of Molly Watson and her sister's adventures in leaving the city.  The catch-phrase on the cover is "the countryside...it's not like the brochure."

Should I actually get around to it, I'll let you know how I find it.

That actually sounds right up my alley - I'm never opposed to a bit of fluffy chick lit AND I'm quite devoted to watching Escape To The Country. I'll have to check it out at some point.  :D

That's a really good idea! So many of us seem to have read it (or are reading it). Let's do it! You be in charge, azroomie! Pick a date and time!

Escape to the country is my favourite "House Porn"!!  ;D

I am currently reading an advanced copy of a book called Born to Rule: Granddaughters of Victoria, Queens of Europe by Julia Gelardi. I'm a history buff and it is very good so far

I need the book version of comfort food right now so I'm reading The Forsyte Saga again.  I need to be in England, and I like the good juicy charicters.  It will take me through the summer to read it I'm sure.  Simon won't be here till December now - the September trip fell through due to work commitments - I need to take my mind off that and fill up my alone time.  This will have to suffice.

The Ivy Chronicles by Karen Quinn, really really funny, especially for parents of young children.
