The Dark Room by Minette Walters- really good mystery author.

So I'm on a bit of a weird kick at the moment, I just finished "do androids dream of electric sheep" about 2 hours ago and I finished "Brave new world" over the weekend.

I'm currently about a chapter into "Atlas Shrugged".

It all started with "man in the high castle" which was incredible, I've re read it about 5 times in the last month. I had to say to my boyfriend "I must finish this book, please go out for an hour" as I was so gripped :)

I'm going orwellian next, I've read 1984 before but not for awhile and I never got around to Animal farm, so that's on order from Amazon.

I've also got catch 22 to re-read and depending how I get on with Atlas, I might go for the Fountainhead.

I appreciate that the FBI is probably now bugging my phone lines :D

On the classics side, I've polished off Persuasion this week which I've never bothered with before and I'm thinking about Crime and punishment.

I've also got "the corner" which is the follow up to Homicide: A year on the killing streets i.e The Wire. And so far, it's great, but slow going :D

I have a few books going. I'm still reading the Jeeves book, just got to a certain point and am now having a hard time finishing it.

I had some free credits to Audible.com when my ex and I bought our GPS last year and couldn't ever use the audio books on my old phone, but I bought an iPhone and am listening to them now on that. Right now I'm listening to American Wife, but I also have a Kathy Reichs and Emily Giffin book on there next.

My mom is letting me borrow her Kindle because she's trying to get through her paper books, so I'm reading Heart and Soul by Maeve Binchy on that.

Any other devices that are good for reading that I should add to the mix? I think I have just about every format covered!  ;) It's good, though, since I hadn't done much reading so far this summer.

I haven't read that actually :) I have seen the film though.
Ta - I'll add it to the amazon pile, it's probably easier to carry around than Atlas shrugged :)

Grace notes by Bernard MacLaverty.  I plucked it off E's shelves before we left along with an Amy Tan I hadn't read.  She had too many books to keep so most went to Oxfam.  I took Grace notes because it's about Northern Ireland.  But its also about a woman musician/composer, about mother-daughter relationships, religion, about being depressed ...  It all resonates.

Ooooh, I LOVED Water for Elephants... it was sooo good!  ;D

The Virgin Suicides- Jeffrey Eugenides

Loved this book as well, though I had already seen the film, and the film was nearly exactly the same as the book (Sofia Coppola is awesome), so it was a bit hard for me to get into the book. Wish I had read it first...

To go along with your theme, you'll also want to add:
1984- Orwell
Animal Farm- Orwell
Anthem- Rand
The Handmaid's Tail - Atwood

But I think I will be pulling some books from your comments hehe!

Dystopian stuff is my genre.  Let me know if you run out of things to read.
