I think it's on Sunday night at 9pm on iTV4.  :)

ITV1, not 4.   I'm looking forward to it though i've never seen an adaptation worthy of it...

I still love Laurence Olivier sniffing "why isn't there the smell of heather in your hair...." to his unfortunate wife

OK.  I see why I was confused.  I heard about it on BBC Breakfast, so couldn't understand why I couldn't find it in their listings.  THanks for the heads-up.

I did too. Yesterday I was at the gym working out and I could see but not hear tne BBC morning show and Burn Gorman was on plugging something. I think it looks like he'll be playing the evil brother... he's good in everything which has really pushed me to watch it. And Tom Hardy playing Heathcliff is an excellent actor - though the wig looks a bit off...

On my list.  My favourite Margaret Atwood is Oryx and Crake, which should also go on the list of dystopian novels.

ooo yes!  Oryx and Crake is a wonderful book. Also by Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale.

Im quite liking the dystopian theme going on!

Oops! I always get these things confused.  :-[ Anyway, hope that it doesn't disappoint since I will have just finished the novel by the time it comes on this weekend. Somehow seeing those racy looking sex scenes on the trailor make me feel a bit dubious as to whether or not it will stay true to the novel.  :-\\\\

Just finished Murakami's "Kafka on the Shore" - my absolute favorite work of his so far. His writing just sucks me in and doesn't spit me out until I'm done... I'm basically out of order until I've finished his books.  :)

High quality stuff. I also recommend "Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World". Yum.

At the risk of offending the great gods of literature ... meh.

I liked the Peace bits, but not so much the War bits. The endless lecturing theories about what causes war, what determines man's actions, is there or is there not free will, etc. .... YAWN.

It could have been half the length (and still been a bulky 850 pages) and been more enjoyable to me.

I'm just finishing The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Just curious if anyone else has read it and what they thought.

I'm glad you let us know!  I haven't read it either and am not overly excited about long descriptions of war.  Sounds like I'll continue to avoid it.  :)

I just read The Master Bedroom : a novel by Tessa Hadley and am nearly finished with Ground Up by Michael Idov.  Picked them at random in 5 minutes from the 'new books' shelf at the library and they both ended up good.  I love when that happens!

Oh, and I basically finished Watching the English by Kate Fox.  DH said he really wished he had read it before we lived there.  I thought it was okay although I skipped around past the bits I wasn't that interested in.  Eh.

But a lot of people really love it, so please don't let me dissuade you if you were thinking of reading it!
