Yes, and I absolutely loved the first half or so of the book.

Interesting...I'll report back on how it goes!

someone has recommended the Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.

Cloud Atlas is amazing! Weird, but amazing!

I liked Cloud Atlas as well.  In fact, I got another David Mitchell novel from the library this past week because I've been meaning to read his other stuff since I read Cloud Atlas.

Which one is it? I have both number9dream and Black Swan Green on my shelves, but haven't got round to reading either of them. So many books, so little time!

Just started Mansfield Park on my trip; I downloaded it on the iPhone a while ago but hadn't been ready to start reading it. I like it!

Ghostwritten.  I will probably read it in a few days after the novelty of our "100 Classic Novels" for the DS wears off.

I liked it alot except for the very last bit. Thought it was superfluious.

The Smartest Guys in the Room by Bethany McLean ad Peter Elkind

Whoever recommended Salt: did you like it?

I am about half way through Salt and find it really interesting and very readable which is not always the case with history books.

I just finished Happy Accidents by Tiffany Murray. In spite of the awful chick-lit-ish cover, it was amazing! About an 11-year-old girl growing up with her quirky family on the Welsh borders in the '80s. The grandmother is an expat (war bride) from Coney Island who misses the US and wears pink all the time. It's a bit deeper than I'm making it sound. Great book!

Now I'm about half way into Notes from an Exhibition by Patrick Gale. I'm loving this one too, especially as it's set in Penzance.

I really enjoyed Notes as well :) I'm a bit of  a sucker for 3 for 2 at Borders and that was one of my picks a while back, I didn't expect to like it half as much as I did.  :)

Patrick Gale came to our Book Club Day last weekend and was so thoroughly charming and wonderful that I was sold on the spot! I'm looking forward to reading his new short story collection, too - it had a nice little review in the Times yesterday.

Cool I might have a look at that too :) Let me know if you like it :)
He would be charming! I can tell by the way he writes, there's lots of emotion in the subtlety :)

Has anybody read the new Booker prize winner Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel?  It looks really good to me.
