Where Men Win Glory by Jon Krakauer, which is very good, and Personal Days by Ed Park, which is not.  If you're into office humor, I'd recommend Then We Came to The End by Joshua Ferris instead.

Just finished Miss Buncle Married which was lovely.  I am now on Diary of a Provincial Lady by EM Delafield.

Far From the Madding Crowd online. I like it so far.  :) I'm reading Stephenie Meyer's The Host at home.

I like your choices.  ;)

I'm just about to start Diamond Star Halo by Tiffany Murray.

I just finished Vernon God Little by DCB Pierre and now I'm on Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolfe.

I personally do not get what the fuss was about Vernon God Little, must have been a serendipitous time to publish that story line. I didn't even like the darn thing until more than half way through! And then just moderately.
I picked this up at the library during my last trip and reshelved it when I tried to cut my books down to five.  Weird coincidence.  Tell me how it is?
It was ok. Sexual liberation meets vampirism meets feminism. But not nearly as exciting as that description makes it sound. Maybe if I'd been around back in the sixties I would have been able to relate more, but probably not. It was interesting though, and I'm not sorry I read it.

ETA: Forgot to mention that there were some awesome turns of phrase in The Bad Sister that I tried (and failed) to remember. Really dark and (to me) funny.

Have you read Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer?  It's amazing.

I haven't read that one, but I love all things Mitford!  :D

It looks good but it's 529 pages.  At the rate I read it could be a long time before I finish it!

The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks - nearly put it down after the first few pages, but now I'm hooked.  There have only been a few pages I had to skim past without really reading, so far.

Just got some books from the local library (which has a pitiful selection, but it seems there are some buried treasures to be found!): Cinnamon Kiss by Walter Mosley (love him, read loads of his books, but haven't read this one!), Now is the Time to Open Your Heart by Alice Walker, and The Post-Birthday World by Lionel Shriver (never read any of her books, but have seen her name pop up on this thread from time to time, so thought I would check it out.) I think I will start with the Mosley book.  :)

Have you seen the BBC adaptation of the series? It was called The Cazalets and it must have been nearly 10 years ago because I know I saw it on PBS in the US. I think you'd really love it! Maybe it's available on DVD?

No, I haven't seen it!  I'm sure I would love it...will check the film center to see if they have it!

Last night I finished Marking Time by Elizabeth Jane Howard.  I think in my eagerness to get to the next plot twist, I am reading these a little too fast.  Must slow down!
