Finished Captain Wentworth's Diary, which was fun/cute, and now I have to re-read Persuasion to get the "real" story.

I've settled on Elizabeth George's A Great Deliverance:)

Finished this last night.  I enjoyed it much more than A Traitor to Memory, but I think perhaps part of it is because this is the first one, so I know a bit more about the characters now than I had.  I suppose I was more invested in them this time.  I think I'm going to stick to reading the rest of them in order now.

However, since I don't have the 2nd one at the moment, I'm going to continue to plow through my stack of books from Christmas.  About to start Mort by Terry Pratchett.

I just finished both Unbroken and The King's Speech.  Unbroken was heartbreaking, inspirational, and nauseating all at the same time.  And I couldn't put it down.  FInished it in 2 days I think.
The King's Speech was written by the grandson of Lional Logue and is about MUCH more than the movie.  It's Logue's biography essentially.  Good read, but not great.  Taught me some UK history I didn't know (which, admittedly, isn't difficult...LOL)  Now moving on to Mists of Avalon for a lighter read :-)

Loved "The Mists of Avalon", and have been thinking about rereading it.
Just finished "The Pillars of the Earth", which was fun to read while here, in that general area - makes me appreciate cathedrals so much more!  And read "Shadow of the Wind", which kind of reminded me of a Mexican Telenovela - tragic and dramatic.  I'm thinking of starting "My Life in France" by Julia Child.  Has anyone read it?

Oh, and if you like the "Mists of Avalon", bet you would like "The Red Tent"

I finally finished To the Lighthouse. It's an amazing book, but one that needs to be read very slowly. I'm usually a quick reader, but not this time!

Now I'm about to start Mrs. Hargreaves, one of my Christmas books.

I'm now about halfway into Avalon and am totally loving it!  I thought since it was based on the story of King Arthur I would be a bit bored with it all, but it is so much more than that!  I will have to try the Red Tent next.  Thanks for the recommendation.

CAAdventures, if you want to appreciate cathedrals even more, I suggest Cathedral of the Sea by Ildefonso Falcones.  Fantastic novel based aroun the building of the Cathedral in Barcelona.

I'm reading The Little Stranger, but finding it a bit boring. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for this one?  :-\\\\

The Count of Monte Cristo. I can't figure out if I've read it before or am just highly familiar with the story. Either way, once I skimmed past the rather boring bits about side characters/politics, and get back to Dantes, it's quite enjoyable. :)

I love that book! There are some boring parts to get through, but it's amazing how it all comes together in the end.  :D

I adore Sarah Waters, but I really didn't like The Little Stranger. Don't give up on her, though. If you haven't read any of her others, do!
