I just finished Never Let M Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Sad ending.  :\\\'(

I'm still reading Oscar Wao but thinking of starting The Letters of Nancy Mitford and Evelyn Waugh when I finish that.

Oh no! I just started reading this one.  :-\\\\ Hope it's not too sad. I am in the early chapters, so still not quite sure what it's about.

Just finished Tongues of Serpents (most recent Temeraire novel), and started The Name of the Wind on the plane. I think I like it, but I was too tired/hungry to really understand everything I was reading, so will probably start over.

Yeah it takes a little while to figure out what's going on, but it's sad.  It's still good though.

Just finished it today. I liked it, too. But yes, it was sad.  :\\\'(

South Riding by Winifred Holtby. Don't know why I never got around to reading it before but there it was in W.H. Smith and I needed something for the train and plane.

Patronage by Maria Edgeworth.  Edgeworth is billed as Jane Austen's bestselling rival.

Oh, so deliciously wonderful!! And a gazillion times better than the television adaptation.

I'm finishing up One Fine Day by Mollie Panter-Downes, a remarkably touching portrayal of village life in England in the aftermath of WWII - the breakdown of the old social norms, class structures, etc. Next it's on to Precious Bane by Mary Webb.

Hmm, interesting, I will look into her!

I just finished 'Persuasion'.  It may be the most romantic Austen novel, but 'Pride and Prejudice' was a more entertaining read, I think.

Well I finished The Age of Reason, and I must say I loved it! Sartre is great, I def plan on picking up the next two books in that trilogy.

Right now I am starting on To The Lighthouse by Woolf. It's one that I tried reading ages ago and just couldn't make it past the first chapter. I am hoping that as I am older, I am also wiser :D and will be able to tackle it!
In 900 years of time and space, I've never met anyone who wasn't important.

I hope you love it! I'm a huge Woolf fan, but I know that some people find her hard work. I think my favourite is Mrs. Dalloway, but To the Lighthouse is absolutely wonderful as well.

I'm loving Precious Bane and just don't want it to end. The descriptions of nature and the Shropshire countryside are beautiful.

I am jumping on the bandwagon late but I've finally started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and can't put it down!

Anyone else read them all?
