I am reading The Icarus Girl by Helen Oyeyemi.  It's an okay story.  It's not the best book I've read in a while, but not the worst either.

I was really reluctant to read We Need to Talk about Kevin, but finally had to give in when it became this month's selection for my book club. Surprisingly (to me, anyway) I really enjoyed it. It wasn't what I'd call a feel-good read, but it was un-put-downable! And it was definitely controversial and provocative enough that I'm sure it'll spark some really good discussions at our next meeting.

Now I'm onto Elizabeth George's With No One as Witness. I only started it this morning, but so far it's as good as all the others have been. She's one of my faves.

I stopped reading The Virgin Queen, could not get into it.  I then started Jennifer Weiner (Good in Bed, In Her Shoes) Goodnight Nobody.  It's her latest.  So far so good.  I needed a light read in-between all this Philippa Gregory  :)

Good Lord!  I'd hate to think someone would read Medea for FUN. :o :-X

I'm thinking it's time to re-visit Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City/Barbary Lane books.  I need a Mrs. Madrigal fix. :D

Me, too!!  Did you ever see the miniseries?  I think they did a great job with the first book.

Absolutely.  Hmm... I think I may have it on video somewhere.  Time for a dig in the basement!

I saw that at Foyles yesterday (Tales of the City)... spent my whole lunch hour, wandering in a daze, trying not to get overwhelmed at HOW MANY BOOKS I WANT TO READ BEFORE I DIE!
And how many I want to RE-READ.
Even just walking through the kids' section, so many I'd read or wanted to years ago - Treasure Island, Where the Wild Things Are, the Winnie the Pooh series, Peter Rabbit Series, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, just tons I'd never even heard of that looked good...
oi.
Never enough time, never enough time... to do all, see all, be all, know all... and read all.

Man, omniscience is a TOUGH career choice!

Just read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls while I was on vacation this week.  Not to be confused with The Glass Palace by Amitav Ghosh.  Also a very good one!
