I'm reading a book I got from a charity shop for 25p. I can't remember the title. Or the author. I guess it's "chick lit."  It's not very good actually! It's about some girls in their late teens in the 1980s so kind of nostalgic for me.  But I wouldn't recommend it.   After this I need a really good read! Good plot, good characters, good writing!

Edited to add it's Slipstream by Kate Bingham.

Just re-read A Separate Peace by John Knowles.  This was assigned to me in high school English class and I read the same copy that I'd saved from way back then.  Of course there are all these underlinings and highlighted passages that I thought were oh so important back then.   ::)  Actually I didn't like it as much as I thought I did back then.

Ok no more fun reading for me until my exam is done!  (12 September)  Until then, it's the Handbook of Alternative Assets for me.   [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

I really liked that book in high school.   Maybe I should read it again.

I am reading Generic Forensic Science Novel Vol. 396, aka "Break No Bones" by Kathy Reichs.  I have a soft spot these types of books!  Lightest of light reading and it's very entertaining.

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" by J.K. Rowling...I wasn't sure if I would like these books..because I thought they were geared more toward kids..but I haven't been able to put them down...

Also reading "On the Way to the Wedding" by Julia Quinn- For anyone who loves romance and humor Julia Quinn's "Bridgerton Series" is the way to go...it is about 8 brothers and sisters in Victorian era...they are great...the one I am reading now is the last in the series...

Started and finished reading "A Year of Wonders" about the plague in Eyam in 1665-66. Strangely enough, I was only vaguely aware of what the plot was. I took it with us on holiday up North and Richard started talking about how we should visit Eyam and it twigged! So I was reading the book and touring the village at the same time. Good book but, according to the info at the Eyam museum, not altogether factually correct. Still, I enjoyed it!

Now I'm onto "Life of Pi". I'm SO behind!!

Currently reading a Patchwork Planet by Anne Tyler. A very light and easy read.

She is from my home town and all of her stories are based there. I love her writing....just plain and simple...relaxing reads!  ;)
