I agree, I read that a few years ago as a recommendation of a friend.  Fantastic.

How is it?  I've been afraid to pick it up for fear it would be too depressing.  But with the movie coming out, I'd like to try reading it first.

I really liked it! I thought it was a totally bizarre book and I had to keep reminding myself it was a memoir. I suggested it to my book club in the States and while they all thought it was "horrifying" and "disturbing" it was one of the best attended meetings and they even went to see the movie as a group! I've heard the movie is not as good as the book, but that's usually the case.

Im only into the first 20 pages, finally bought it on Sunday.  I can say that I already like the way he writes, some books I'm immediately bored with..dont think thats the case with this one!!

I'm reading his second book, Dry. It is about his struggle with getting and staying sober. I really like it. I want to read Running With Scissors, but I am waiting until my Oxfam book shop has it.

For Whom The Bell Tolls by Hemingway...

thought I should read something with some substance as opposed to my usual trash  :)  It's actually quite good if you can make your way through his massively long streams of consciousness.

I'm totally enjoying this book!  Every page just makes me giggle.  The movie is getting mixed reviews, but Ill still wanna see it eventually! :)

The Portable Door by Tom Holt.  Haven't gotten very far into it yet, but so far I'm really enjoying it!  The main character has been offered a job in a very strange office after a bizarre job interview, has had the sword in the stone delivered mysteriously to his flat, and has been hounded by Gilbert & Sullivan.  Can't wait to see what happens next!
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.
