From Iowa to Scotland
« on: February 17, 2012, 10:09:40 PM »
Our family has been in the UK for 2 weeks and have loved EVERY minute of it!  I think we blew through all of our stress during the visa process...moving over the pond with 2 kids, finding a home, school registration, banking, shopping...piece of cake!  It just feels surreal!   This is truly a beautiful country!

We arrived on the 1st and settled in Broxburn for a job offer.  They have just about everything you need and everyone has been friendly.

What part of Iowa? I'm Iowan as well. Quite awesome to see some one else making the rounds in the UK!

Welcome! More Iowans.  I'm an Iowan that's been in the UK for a decade.  I haven't lived in Iowa City since 1999 (where I was born and raised) but it'll always be a bit of 'home' for me.

Small town called Fontanelle.  Just south and west from Des Moines 45 minutes.  How little do the folks here know that the landscape is very similar to Iowa.  Maybe a few more hills here :D.
