I'm with csalvato. DH and I are big Amex fans and use it allover Notts.

Back to the phones for a sec. Santa got me a 4S for Christmas - tied to no one. I am using it on AT&T now. Since I brought it to AT&T I won't have the problems as if I got it through them, will I?

kbee: heads up that I had Vodafone pay as you go.  They weren't willing to give me a microsim card as I wasn't on contract. So stay the heck away from them! O2 gladly gave me one.

I am a bit unclear on your situation...did you buy the iPhone 4s in the uk unlocked direct from apple then went to the us and used an AT&T sim?  If so that's fine, but if you BOUGHT it through AT&T then you need to have them unlock it.

I bought it from Apple in the UK. So it sounds like I'll be fine. Thanks csalvato.

Ah...thanks for this!  I was going to check out Vodafone.  I've used PAYG phones on Orange when over there in 2007 and O2 the last time we went.  I liked them both, but I guess I'll steer clear of Vodaphone with my iPhone.   ;)
