Guinea pigs.  I've been fostering guinea pigs for a local rescue for the past 18 months.  (My own died a while ago and I was unable to adopt more since I knew we were moving to the UK).  It can be a lot of work and sometimes upsetting, but hugely rewarding.  We've made some great friends through this too.  But we're looking forward to adopting our own pigs once we move.

I was just thinking I had no real hobbies other than reading, and then I read this.  Guinea pigs are the best!  We have four.  :)

But they don't live very long. That makes me sad.  :(

But animals are fab. I'd love to volunteer at an animal shelter if Mr MLG wasn't so allergic.

6) Go dancing

7) Pub Quizzes

8) I do enjoy cooking, but I like eating more!  ;D

1. Watching movies (at home or at the movie theatre. I love going to the movies).

2. Reading (books, magazines, newspapers, blogs).

3. Eating :P

4. Walking

5. People watching

6. Go “shopping” to try on ridiculous clothes I’ll never buy

7. I am a political junkie. Election time is like crack for me. I can’t get enough of the political theater.

8. Traveling

9. Hanging with DF sometimes in a romantic couple way and sometimes in a best buds way.

10. Back in Massachusetts, my town’s rinkydink newspaper had a section called “Sound Off” where anyone and everyone could write in and complain about things. It always turned political. I enjoyed reading the asinine comments, letting my blood boil and then immediately sendinh in a response which always appeared in the next week’s issue.

11. Skyping with friends and now family.

12. If it were possible, I would go through life listening to my iPod and I would never stop it or take out my headphones. :P

Hurrah for guinea pigs!  I just love coming home to see their cute little faces.  They're so adorable :-)

Goodness. What an active bunch! Though these months are full of wedding stuff, visa stuff and selling belongings, I am:
1) sports NUT! DH subscribed to ESPN on Sky for me. Must be love. Need to figure out cricket and rugby.

2) Very active in my church. Finding a new one in Notts will be an adventure.

3) Into exercise - presently in a Bikram Yoga phase.

4) Missing karate & hoping to pick up again in UK.

5) Traveling - to the store or another country. Whatever.

6) Trivia fan - quiz machine, quiz night, Jeopardy. I'm a useless wealth of knowledge.

7) Organizing stuff. Give me a cluttered room and let me turn it around.

8) cooking for more than 1

I'm a workaholic, and I travel for work a lot. This year I'm going to hit Japan and China probably as well as the US (I normally end up in the US at least twice a year for work). I may take a talk on tour as well this year and hit up the all the game developer conferences.
I have a game to promote this year as well. Game promotions can be pretty exhausting but seriously fun, you travel around with your game and get interviewed (I've even been in Italian Playboy! :)) and you run stands at gaming events for people to try your game pre-release.

I'm a part of the indie game scene so go to some indie events, and serve on panels etc. Which is fun a lot of the time.

Obviously games are a big passion and I play a lot, Facebook to iOS to console,  or whatever is fun/cool/new.

You just might be my new hero! Your life sounds freak'n AWESOME!  ;D

Come over my house anytime! My stuff is an organizer's nightmare (or dream, I suppose).

Love this post. So inspirational!

My interests/hobbies change weekly. Right now I'm focusing on:

Cycling: the weather's been just great for a few circuits of Regent's Park in the afternoon sun. I want to find other presently unemployed peeps to ride with; preferably with a visit to a pub afterwards!

Reading: I read a lot. My newest craze is books that have been made into movies/shows because they are readily available at the library. I'm reading "Game of Thrones" right now.

Making my own promos at home: professionally I am a TV promo producer, and since I've not had great luck finding work, I'm keeping up my skills by writing/editing my own promos at home. I've just picked up Adobe Premiere (I'm an Avid girl), and I'm teaching myself how to use it. I love what I do, and if I can't do it for work, why not do it for fun!

My long term interests are:

Travel: I love researching, planning and going. The DH just mentioned the prospect of getting a job in New Zealand and I immediately planned our entire scouting trip. I am a super travel geek. Hell, it's where me and DH met - an online travel site.

Walking: This weekend is a circuit of Hampstead Heath should the weather hold.

Singing: I want to find a choir (something that does not involve church) that I could be involved in.

I love the idea of learning languages in my spare time. My French is a bit rusty. I think I'll get on that!

I draw, although I don't know if it still counts if a hobby if I sometimes get commissions...

But I write occasionally, singing, learning makeup techniques and special effects. Working out, I really need to get into that one more as of late.  ;D

If you enjoy doing it for fun and someone pays you for it that is fun x 2!!! That rocks.

As you are in London, there must be tons of non-church choirs. The one at the Royal Free Hospital comes to mind. http://www.rfms.org (you don't have to be a doctor or nurse there!)

Funny, I was just looking at this group the other day. It's pretty close to where I live, a bit of a walk and a bus. I suppose now I just have to enquire!

A quick look dels and I found:

The Royal Choral Society

Highgate Choral Society

Islington Choral Society

The London Chorus

etc- Search for Choral Society and you should find non-church choirs!

Yay for singing!!!  ;D
