Before Biometrics Appointment Questions
« on: March 20, 2012, 12:28:10 AM »
So I just completed my application online (WOO HOO) and my biometrics is scheduled for Thursday and I've got a couple of questions.

1. On my biometrics appointment sheet my name reads Arica Rai Arica Rai Zimmerman Langston. Can I cross out my former married name or do I need to do it in the presence of the person who does my biometrics?

2. This same thing shows up on my printed application (I think it's on page 5). Do I cross it out there as well? And put a note that it's my former married name?

3. When can I purchase priority? Do I need to do it the day of my biometrics? Or can I do it now?

Thanks guys!

You're almost done now!

1.  You'll want to bring it to the attention to the biometrics person, and he/she will change it in their system for you.  This seems horribly common, and that's exactly what happened to me, too.  Haha.

2.  I just made a written note that it was my former married name, then listed the actual name I intended to apply with.

3.  Priority service is purchased through WorldBridge.  You'll need your VAF# on hand for this.  Go to their Additional Services page for more info; they'll tell you what you need to do.  :)  Make sure you get Settlement Priority rather than regular priority, and write it on the outside of your shipping package along with the number as instructed.

I believe what I last read here was that you need to do your online application, then your biometrics, and THEN get the priority service on the day you intend to mail your stuff out.

ETA:  The WorldBridge site can be OBSCENELY slow at times, so just give it time if it's acting up.  After I unblocked it from my bank and went to try again, the purchase page was sooooo slow.  I'd heard about some people getting double-charged, so I just let it take its own sweet time loading the page after entering my payment info.  It worked fine for me.  I guess I just made the mistake of purchasing while they were doing server maintenance or something, ugh!

Can I write directly on the application to fix this or do I need to add a sticky note?

I know I go through WorldBridge, but I'll need to go to my biometrics, then head home and pay for settlement priority, and then go mail it off?

Just cross it out on the printed application and write in the corrected name.

If you intend on sending out your application directly after your biometrics and on the same day it really doesn't matter if you purchase the priority then do your bios or you do your bios and then purchase the priority...6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other.
