Got my ILR!! and Elderly Parent Visa
« on: March 21, 2012, 07:13:32 PM »
I finally got my ILR!!!  Very exciting!!! :)

I am still working through whether or not my Mom can come here - both on her side and visa side.  In terms of her applying from the States, would she fill out a SET (F) form?

We are trying to see if it is even financially feasible as I don't know if we could afford an accommodation taht would suit all of us.  Has anyone else had their widowed parent come and live with them?

Thanks.  This is a tough situation....

It's very difficult to get a visa for an elderly parent.  She would need to prove that she has no one else who can care for her and that she cannot take care of herself on her own.
