I've never had a Cadbury Egg--what are they like?

Easter is going to be smallish this year--just me, my parents, grandparents, one cousin and his wife and his parents--so we're not sure if we're going to do the traditional Easter Egg Hunt. Maybe 10-15 years ago, when my younger brother was still enough a kid to hunt Easter Eggs but the rest of us were kind of growing out of it, someone hit on the idea of making three eggs worth cash to induce us older kids to hunt with my brother. This evolved quickly into only hiding three eggs, #1, #2, & #3, worth $20, $10 and $5, respectively. So even though we're all now in our 20s or early 30s, we still hunt eggs and it's quite the competition. But with only three of us in our generation here this year and one of those being Josh's wife, who I don't think understands or appreciates the whole thing, it might be done. Part of me totally understands that and part of me is really sad.

Gosh you don't even get Good Friday off?  I used to get Good Friday off where I worked in the US, because I think the stock market/federal government is closed that day at the least!  Sheesh!

My mom hated Creme Eggs too - lol!

Maybe in the olden days the federal govenment was closed for Good Friday, but not anymore! Boo! We're going for brunch at my favorite place as a belated anniversary thing and since it's on Easter we'll celebrate that too!

Awesome news! It hasn't been that long for me, but I have felt the bunny blues the past three Easters. Enjoy every minute of it! :) I know I will next year.

We'll be spending a big chunk of tomorrow doing the train and coach thing, but will be hitting London about 3 or 3:30. Once we get everything to our room, we will see what sort of mischief we can get up to.  ;D

For those, if you have any creme eggs left:

That's lovely news, Shugga.

I like mini eggs, as well. If I felt inclined, I would make Easter themed cupcakes, but I am just too lazy. Probably plain cupcakes with lemon / lime / orange icing with Easter decorations.....Maybe this week?

Nope, no Good Friday. And we don't even get Patriot's Day (Paul Revere Day) off next week (but I'm taking it).  Turned out DS got sent home early on Friday because of lack of customers and didn't have to work Sat. or Sun.

I was lucky to have Good Friday off due to the stock markets being closed, but ended up with a nasty headache most of the weekend...I salvaged some of yesterday, so at least hubby and I could enjoy Easter with my parents, brother and sister-in-law.

I cleaned my house Friday, went out and did errands on Saturday and planted tatties on Sunday. Worked yesterday as it was not a bank holiday in Scotland. Did nothing remotely 'easterish' and that was perfect by me!

A bit late to this....DW's daughter came over for 2 weeks over Easter. They've not seen each other since Thanksgiving 2010 so they had a lot of catching up to do and we all had a great time.
Good Friday was hot cross buns.....to be honest, I can't really remember what we did on Easter Sunday!

Well I hope everyone had a nice Easter holiday weekend break at the least!

Looks like the creme egg lovers/likers won out in the end - yay!  :D

We went for a week self-catering at the Dorset seaside starting on the Easter weekend Sat through to last Sat.  Weather not 100% but was much better than it's been up here - only a sprinkle most days & lots of sun, if not especially warm temps...  We both came home with a little tan - DH a bit more than me.

We stayed near Weymouth & did walks around Thomas Hardy's cottage and Maiden Castle by Dorchester, Studland & Corfe Castle, Lyme Regis & Burton Bradstock, Fleet Lagoon by Chesil Beach, Cerne Abbas & more.  It was lovely!  And we only got rained & hailed on while walking one day (Cerne Abbas giant day).

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...
