Nah!

Quick look indicates most of those threads are at least 2+ years old.

Let's start fresh with what our currently active members are bringing back nowadays, plus I know what I bring back has changed over the years as more & more products are available here now anyway (Oreos, hot sauces, etc).

OK. Just trying to help. I guess I look at it from the perspective of someone new to the forum looking for information. There's no reason new posts on an old thread can't reflect new products.

Whatevs.  ;)

I'll keep looking, when I have more time ... I'd like to see the old one(s) in addition to hearing about new stuff!

I remember that Tracey used to like this vanilla flavoured Chapstick & vanilla Secret...  Not sure about the Secret, but I looked high & low for that vanilla Chapstick last couple times I was back & I'm not sure they make it anymore.  They might still do the Secret - except I think it is (or was) called Vanilla Chai last time I saw it.

Also I always feel so behind the times when I go back to visit, and my brothers start pulling all the new products out of the cupboard/pantry - "And have you tried this? this? this? this?...."  :P  Love all the new/different flavours of Cheezits - and I never used to be that crazy about them, but certain people (ahem...Andee & others...) have had a bad influence on me!  ;)

I'm going to look and see what sort of stuff I used to bring back, then compare and contrast!  ;)

Ohh, I can play along finally!  After 4 years we are going over at the end of May.  It will be to San Jose so I won't be seeing any family.
Last time I was over there were some family issues that didn't make the trip  enjoyable.

Jealous!  That's one area of the US that I've never been, yet!  We will all want full details of course!  :)

Have been to SoCal before, and to San Jose in Almeria (Spain) - but never the 'Do You Know the Way to San Jose?' place.  :D

I can't wait to get there!  I've been to San Francisco for a wedding once-so I'll definitely be in tourist mode.  I posted on the travel/transport board and have received some great suggestions as to where to go.

My cousin got us to try these new Ritz crackers which were really good and I was drinking marshmallow "fluffed" vodka in my hot chocolate mmmm

Did you eat out at favourite places and/or stuff yourself on old favourites?

Made sure we went to Ruby Tuesday's but tried lots of great restaurants in Newport.  Had a real blast from my past when I saw the ice cream at one place was made by Bliss Bros in Attleboro MA - tasted just like I remember!

Hope your dad is feeling better now, SlicesMissus!

He's out of the hospital and looked pretty good on Skype yesterday.  They've tweaked his meds and he'll be tired for a while but he's on the mend.

Sounds like a lot of fun!!!  How long since you had been back (as long as since 2006/07 or more recent than that)?  I'd last been in MA in 2007 but in 2009 we went to my parents' house in FL for Christmas.

oh no, don't tell me this!  :o
I was hoping to buy some new clothes over there, as I remembered it all being much cheaper!

As was said before, it really depends highly on where you are going to shop. I am a bargain shopper (aka cheap, lol) and I get pretty d*mn good deals, simply because let's face it, no one has money to throw out the window for clothes. If you want cheaper you're gonna have to look harder unfortunately, but it's far from impossible to find deals. I go to smaller shops, I never pay anything over $12 for a top. If it's not beneath you to go to shops like, Goodwill, or thrift stores you'll be amazed how much you can get for your buck. My wardrobe is overflowing with pretty nice clothes from a lot of thrift stores. So, I wish you luck with your shopping, make sure to have a hard look around! ;)

That is good advice, MandyBoo - only thing is when we're back over there for a visit, between catching up with our friends & family we've not seen for a long time, we don't always have as much time as we'd like to be marathon shoppers!  But some of us do our best...  ;)
