Any Dorset UK/US couples?
« on: May 07, 2012, 02:37:25 PM »
I'm in Dorset and hubby is from California. He will hopefully pending visa be here next month. Would be so cool to find other US/UK couples in the area so he doesn't feel quite so home-sick! It's gonna be hard enough for him dealing with the change of California weather to UK weather.
Anyone around this neck of the woods?

What part of Dorset are you? I work in Bridport but live in East Devon.

I'm in Dorchester/Bournemouth.  What part of Cali is your husband from?
On s'envolera du même quai
Les yeux dans les mêmes reflets,
Pour cette vie et celle d'après
Tu seras mon unique projet.

Je t'aimais, je t'aime, et je t'aimerai.

My hubby is from San Francisco.
And to the other poster, yes Dorchester. Would be awesome for us to know some other UK/US couples in the area.

I am not in the UK yet, but will be in Upton when we are able to get through all the hoops.  Will be visiting there for Thanksgiving Day this year.  Anyone interested in having a dinner?

Ugh… so sorry, I was there from just after Christmas to the end of February, but came back stateside for my Dad's 90th birthday.  I'm sorry I missed your note, but haven't logged in here in quite a while.  This last trip was NOT the best anyway though.  He had no leave days left, I have no car while there, so I was home alone all day every day except the weekends.  And then, we both got the mega flu while I was there, we were both sick as dogs for 3 weeks.  Strangely, that was the best time of the trip because even though we felt awful, it was so good that we were both there, just in the same room.  We both laugh about it now, how pathetic are we that the best time of my trip was the time spent almost comatose! lol

Planning next trip for 4 months, but not sure yet exactly when.  Might be June, July, or August. I'll post something when I come, because I dearly would love to meet someone while there. His niece has promised to take me out for the day when I'm there next, which will be lovely, but I'd like to start developing a circle that extends beyond just his family.

I'll be more than happy to meet up when you're back this way. My baby is due the end of June so I have all the time in the world as I won't be going back to work until April 2015! Could show you around Monkey World or something (I'm a primate keeper there!)

I'm in East Devon/West Dorset.  It would be cool to meet up, perhaps on the beach in Lyme Regis if we can get a few people together.  Anyone up for it?
